Christmas and New Year support information
Over the Christmas period my office will be running with limited staff. Emails will be checked once a day to make sure urgent casework is dealt with, but non urgent queries will be picked up in January.
I know that Christmas can be a difficult time for many people. If you need urgent help over the festive period, please use the information below.
In an emergency
If you are in immediate danger, always call 999.
Mental health support
If you are struggling and need someone to talk to, support is available at any time.
The Samaritans are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Call 116 123.
The Mind in Somerset Mindline is also available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Domestic abuse
If you are experiencing domestic abuse or need urgent support, help is available.
You can contact Refuge on 0808 2000 247 or visit

You can also contact the Somerset Domestic Abuse Service between 8am and 8pm, 7 days a week, on 0800 69 49 999.
Homelessness
If you are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless this Christmas, support is available through NHS Somerset’s Homeless and Rough Sleeper Nursing Service.

Roads, waste and local services
For issues such as roads, pavements, streetlights, abandoned vehicles, waste collections or environmental concerns, please report these directly to Somerset Council via their website.
Somerset Council can also help with housing support, cost of living advice, school places, home to school transport and special educational needs.
