Meet your MP for Yeovil and South Somerset
Since July 2024, I have served as the MP for Yeovil and South Somerset, which has been the greatest honour of my life.
My journey to get here was not always easy. I became involved in politics at 16 years old, when the Conservatives cut funding for youth clubs across Somerset, meaning my own club was due to close. This youth club changed my life, providing an outlet when I was suffering from bullying and struggling with my dyslexia.
Saving my club inspired my journey into politics and showed me what can be achieved with hard work and determination. I campaigned to become your MP only because I want to get the best for Yeovil and South Somerset.
Since becoming your MP, I am proud of the progress we have made for our area. We have successfully re-opened Yeovil’s maternity unit, delivered new NHS dentists in Chard and Crewkerne, and got the New Medium Helicopter contract over the line for Leonardo, securing a parliamentary debate, asking multiple written questions, and meeting repeatedly with ministers.
Yet there is still much more work to be done to deliver for residents and provide them with the representation they deserve. For too long, cities like London have benefited from major support, while towns and rural communities like ours have not seen the same level of investment. From improved access to NHS services to better public transport, I will keep pushing this government to provide our community with the support, funding and representation it deserves.
