Say no to sewage in Somerset's rivers

Water companies around the UK are allowed to use our rivers as open sewers

In October 2021, a majority of Conservative MPs voted AGAINST an amendment to the Environment Bill which would have protected our rivers from being used as dumping grounds for raw sewage. The backlash has been huge. The Government has badly misread the room.

Add your name to our petition, and help us demand action from the Government. If enough people create enough noise the Government will be forced into another embarrassing U-Turn.

Did you know? In some parts of Somerset, untreated sewage is being released into the environment for most of the year. Take a look at this map to see how often sewage is being dumped into a river near you.
