Our team worked every hour of the shortened campaign to get our brilliant candidate, Jo Roundell Greene elected, tens of thousands of pieces of literature were delivered, thousands of doors knocked on & phone calls made.
We take heart from an election where people joined us from the day the election was announced, and are still joining us - many took part in a political campaign for the first time which can only be good for local politics. Our team remains committed, focused and ready.
Although we will take some time to reflect on this result, we are already seeing a Government in chaos, held to ransom by nationalists of all types. We do not yet know the price for the DUP to prop up this weak and wobbly Government, some say it could be as much as £2bn extra for Northern Ireland.
When we are seeing local services such as Magnolia Ward, a specialist dementia assessment unit in Yeovil having to close its doors because of a lack of nurses - will our Conservative MP put his constituents or his party first?
