Claire Brown has lived in Chard all her life and now she wants to give back to the town by standing in the Town Council by election on Thursday 6th May. She and her husband Trent have lived in their family home in Chard for seven years. Claire works with autistic children who may have challenging behaviour as well as running a successful local catering business with her husband.
Claire is the Vice Chair of Chard Carnival Committee. After becoming Miss Chard in 2009, Claire was keen to get involved in helping to run the Carnival after returning from University. She answered a call for help when the Carnival was close to folding after the resignation of nearly all the Committee. She has been an active member taking on the Royalty Competition as well as being Vice Chairman.
Claire said “I have come to a point in my life where I am able to give back to the people of Chard and I am hoping that the residents of Holyrood ward will elect me so that I can become involved in my community and help the people where I was born and brought up”.
Claire Brown’s plan for our area
Represent our town
Claire will always be available to residents if they have problems, concerns, require help or have ideas for the future. She will work hard to improve Chard and to represent local people on the council.
Liberal Democrat SSDC is investing in Chard Town Centre, work on the new swimming pool has now started and is on time and in budget. Claire will work hard to keep Chard Regeneration on track.
Improve our environment
Combating climate change is a major priority for the Liberal Democrats in South Somerset. We are planting trees, investing in green technology and improving green spaces.
