Yeovil Liberal Democrats select new parliamentary spokesperson

Members of Yeovil constituency Liberal Democrats met on Sunday in Stoke sub Hamdon to  choose their parliamentary spokesperson for the area.

Daisy Benson, 37 who lives in Misterton and works for a utility company as a stakeholder  engagement manager, was selected.

Following her selection, Daisy said.    

‘The people of Yeovil constituency have grown used to a strong passionate voice standing up  for them in Westminster and locally for three decades in David Laws and Paddy Ashdown.  

 ‘It’s an honour to follow in their footsteps.    

‘I want to thank local members for their vote of confidence and I’m looking forward to helping the  people of Yeovil respond to the challenges ahead of us.’    

David Laws, former Member of Parliament for Yeovil commented:    

‘I would like to congratulate Daisy on her selection. I know her to be a hardworking, energetic  campaigner who cares about improving the lives of local people.    

‘She has my full support in addressing the pressing issues facing Yeovil.’
