Local Lib Dem MP David Laws is today releasing figures on the parliamentary activity of Somerset MPs. The figures show that Lib Dem MPs David Laws MP and David Heath MP have both taken part in more votes and asked more parliamentary questions than their Tory counterparts

David Laws asked 386 Parliamentary Questions in the last 6 months – almost 4 times the number of all 3 Tory MPs added together. David Heath was second after asking 99 Parliamentary questions, more than the three Tory MPs put together. David Heath MP came first in attending votes in the House of Commons between June and December 2001 after taking part in 90% of votes. David Laws said:

“ It has been a great privilege to be MP for Yeovil since June 2001, and I hope to be able to use every available opportunity to represent the people of Yeovil constituency – locally and in Parliament.”
