David Laws MP and Rt Hon Vince Cable MP To Visit Farnborough Airshow
David Laws, MP for Yeovil Constituency, will this week accompany the Secretary of State for Business, the Rt Hon Vince Cable, on a visit to the Agusta Westland stand at the Farnborough Airshow.
Mr. Laws will attend the international airshow tomorrow morning (Tuesday) and will visit businesses and manufacturers showcasing at the event. At 11.00 Mr. Laws will join Dr. Cable for a meeting with representatives of Agusta Westland, one of the largest defence industry businesses in the UK and a major employer in Yeovil Constituency.
The Farnborough International Airshow takes place every two years and is one of the largest and most well-known aviation events in the world. The show offers a unique opportunity for defence and aviation manufacturers to showcase their work and new technologies in the sector.
Ahead of his visit, Mr. Laws said:
“I am pleased to be able to visit the Agusta Westland stand with the Business Secretary Vince Cable. Vince will have the chance to see the excellent progress that Agusta Westland is making in developing the civil helicopter programme in Yeovil. This is crucial to securing jobs and orders in the future”.
