INCREASE IN LIB DEM SUPPORT LEADS TO EMPHATIC VICTORY IN CREWKERE TOWN COUNCIL BY ELECTION

Liberal Democrats in Crewkerne are celebrating after voters emphatically elected Rusty Jackson to the Town Council, after a by-election was called for Thursday 29th July.  The result highlights the growing support for the Liberal Democrats, given that the seat was held by the Conservatives.

Rusty, an active Lib Dem Campaigner, was elected with a majority of 353, securing just over 60% of the vote.
Town Councillor Rusty Jackson said: “I’d like to thank the voters of Crewkerne for electing me to the Town Council. I’m very much looking forward to the work ahead and working for all the people of the town.”
District Councillor Angie Singleton said: “This result is very pleasing indeed. Rusty has secured a huge mandate from the electorate of Crewkerne.”
David Laws MP said: “I’d like to congratulate Rusty on her election to Crewkerne Town Council. Rusty and her team ran a superb campaign.”
