LIB DEMS CELEBRATE RESOUNDING VICTORY IN YEOVIL CENTRAL BY-ELECTION
Liberal Democrats in Yeovil Central Ward are celebrating after voters resoundingly elected Mike Lock to the Town Council, after a by-election was called for Thursday 1st July.
Mr. Lock, an active Lib Dem Campaigner, was elected with a majority of 351, securing just under 50% of the vote. The result highlights the strength of support for the Liberal Democrats in Yeovil.
Town Councillor Mike Lock said: “I’d like to thank the voters of Yeovil Central Ward for electing me to the Town Council. It is both a privilege and an honour to represent the area, and I’m very much looking forward to the work ahead”.
Town Council Leader and Mayor Phil Chandler said: “This result is very pleasing indeed. Mike secured a huge mandate from the electorate of Yeovil Central, and I look forward to welcoming him to the Town Council.
David Laws MP said: “I’d like to congratulate Mike Lock on his election to Yeovil Town Council. Both Mike and his agent Stephen Hawker ran a superb campaign which is highlighted in Mike’s large majority”.
