David Laws, MP for Yeovil Constituency, has congratulated Norton sub Hamdon Parish Council after it received a grant of £7,100 for the village’s heritage project.

This grant has been awarded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, and will be used by the village to highlight important aspects of their local heritage. The project will include the production of a parish map detailing the history of Norton sub Hamdon, which will display information from the Doomsday Book, historical photographs and ancient road names. New boundary stones will also be positioned to replace original boundary stones that have been lost or damaged. These new boundary stones will show designs by pupils of Norton’s Primary School depicting key periods of the village’s history.
