Laws welcomes news yeovil crown post office to stay open

David Laws, MP for Yeovil Constituency, has welcomed the news from Post Office Limited that the Crown Post Office in Yeovil will remain open. The news was given in a letter to David Laws this week.

Post Office Ltd has recently entered into a partnership with WHSmith which has seen many city and town centre post offices integrated into WHSmith stores. However, Post Office Ltd confirmed on Friday that the Crown Office in Yeovil will continue to be one of the 373 flagship Crown Post Offices run centrally, rather than by sub-postmasters, thereby guaranteeing their future in the existing location.

David Laws said,

“I welcome the news that the Crown Post Office in Yeovil is to remain open and centrally run by Post Office Ltd.

“It is vital that businesses and the public in Yeovil have assurances that they will have access to a full range of Post Office services indefinitely. 

“I hope that people in Yeovil will continue to support the Post Office, which is vital to ensure its future.”
