Laws praises glovers after wembley final

David Laws, MP for Yeovil Constituency, has praised Yeovil Town Football Club for its performance this season, which culminated in the play-off final at Wembley on Sunday:

“This season has not finished with the Fairy Tale ending, but there have been quite a few near miracles along the way.

“In particular, it is an amazing achievement to have reached the play-off finals at Wembley, beating a team like Nottingham Forest by 5-2 along the way.

“Everyone at Yeovil Town can be very proud of what they have achieved this season, which has given so much pleasure to people all over Somerset and Dorset.

“The performance of our football team has also raised the national profile of our town and businesses.

“The final on Sunday was an incredible event, with a great atmosphere, and even the result and the poor weather failed to dampen the spirit of Yeovil fans.

“Congratulations to Russell Slade and his team, and to Chairman John Fry and all the staff and volunteers at the club. We are already looking forward to the start of the new season.”
