David Laws, MP for Yeovil constituency, has welcomed news from South West Trains that the company will be adding coaches to its services on Sunday to help ensure fans supporting Yeovil Town FC can travel to London easily.

In response to a letter from David Laws seeking reassurances that additional services would be in place to ferry Yeovil Town fans to the play-off final at Wembley, Stewart Palmer, Managing Director of South West Trains, confirmed that the company would be adding coaches to the 07.32 and the 09.25 departures from Yeovil Junction, with additional vehicles in the evening for the return. Mr Palmer also said SWT would be attaching additional coaches at Salisbury to cater for people who choose to drive to Salisbury.

David Laws said,

“This is good news but South West Trains must make sure that there is sufficient extra space on the trains – there will be a huge number of extra people making the journey to London and back on Sunday. There is a risk or over-crowding unless enough extra carriages are laid on.”
