David Laws, Liberal Democrat MP for Yeovil, has been told by Somerset County Council that a broken kerb at Freedom Avenue in Yeovil will be fixed after he alerted them to the problem on behalf of a constituent, following a recent “Roving Surgery” of the area.

David Laws MP said,

“I was pleased to be able to look into the problem of the broken pavements in Freedom Avenue in Yeovil, following one of my roving surgeries in the area recently. Somerset County Council will now be repairing this piece of paving, and I hope that most of the pavement will be renewed in Freedom Avenue once the current housing work is completed.

“I undertake a roving surgery every Friday and I try to speak to everyone on a particular street or group of streets. I see this as a proactive way of getting out into the constituency in order to meet people and find out their concerns. Often, as in this case, problems can be easily solved, once identified”
