Affordable housing

David decided to take action to campaign for more funding for affordable housing in the South West following reports last year that house prices nearly doubled in the South West region between 1999 and 2003, compared to a rise in incomes over the same period of only 24%. The disparity between income and house prices in the region is the greatest outside of London, and in 2003 housing waiting list increased by 16%. This highlights a more general lack of Government investment in the South West, which David continues to fight to be redressed.
