‘Axe the tax’ campaign

David and his Liberal Democrat colleagues are continuing to press the Government to scrap the unfair council tax and replace it with a local tax based on ability to pay. The ‘Axe the Tax’ campaign saw David present a petition to Downing Street, alongside local Lib Dem MP for Somerton and Frome, David Heath. David is concerned that high council tax rates are a burden on the elderly and those on low incomes, and he will continue to raise the issue with the Government and push them for a fairer alternative based on ability to pay.
