Candidate for Coker
Mick Clark is a hard-working Parish Council Chairman and local activist who has campaigned with and for local communities on a range of issues. Mick lives locally in Stoford with his family where they are actively involved in the local community and with their local Primary School.
Mick works with disadvantaged adults in the community, providing training and advice to help them to develop vocational skills to return to work. Mick also runs pre-release courses in our region's prisons to reduce re-offending through vocational skills development.
Mick is passionate about our area. In addition to running a regular advice centre/job club, he is a local volunteer CPR trainer for the British Heart Foundation and also hosts a regular forum for Parish Councils to improve the standards of service for ALL residents of the Cokers.
Mick’s Three to Fix
For too long we have been let down by the current Tory Councillor. Mick already hosts a monthly advice centre and will remain accessible to everyone in the community, continuing his hard work, representing the needs of the community and standing up for the Cokers.
2. Community Safety
Mick is working with agencies and residents to improve visible policing and reduce social isolation. He has a track record of working with organisations to improve safety in our community and has worked alongside local Police, as well as volunteering his time as a community CPR trainer and educating vulnerable adults in online safety.
3. Highways & Transport
Our county roads have suffered from years of neglect and under-funding. Mick is committed to ensuring rural communities are no longer unfairly neglected. Mick will also fight to retain and improve our local bus services, currently under threat from Tory cuts.
